Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Whafy — what we do, what we do not do, what things cost, and what happens when something goes wrong.

Last updated

1. This agreement

These terms are between you and WHAFY LTD, of Larnaca, Cyprus. They apply when you use the Whafy website or app, whether or not you book anything. By creating an account you accept them.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract. If you are using Whafy for a business, you confirm you are authorised to bind it.

2. What Whafy is — and is not

Whafy is a platform. It is not the person who does the work. We connect you with independent service providers — cleaners, car-wash operators, movers, beauty professionals and others — who run their own businesses. When you book, the service itself is supplied by that provider, not by Whafy.

What that means concretely:

  • The provider performs the service and is responsible for it — the standard of the work, the conduct of their staff, and any damage caused while doing it.
  • Licences and insurance are the provider’s own responsibility. Providers must hold whatever licence, certification or insurance Cypriot law requires for what they do, and they confirm this to us during onboarding. Whafy does not hold those licences and is not required to.
  • Whafy is responsible for the platform — that it works, that your booking reaches the right provider, that pricing is applied as described here, and that your data is handled as our Privacy Policy says.

We check providers before they can take bookings, and we can suspend or remove one at any time. That vetting is a service we perform for the marketplace; it is not a guarantee of any individual job, and it does not make us the supplier of the work.

3. Your account

Your phone number is your account. We verify it with a one-time code when you register, and again if you need to recover access. Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account until you tell us it has been compromised.

You can delete your account at any time from the app. Deletion is irreversible and refused only while you have a job that is neither completed nor cancelled — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is erased and what is kept.

4. Booking a service

You choose a service, an address, a time and — for some services — a provider. A booking becomes binding when we confirm it, not when you submit it: a slot can be taken between the two, and if that happens we will tell you and offer another.

Some services cannot be priced in advance. For those you send a description and photographs, we come back with a price, and you accept or decline it. Asking for a quote commits you to nothing, and you can withdraw a request you no longer want.

You agree to:

  • give an accurate address and safe, lawful access to it;
  • be present or arrange access at the time booked, and tell us in advance if something changes;
  • treat providers and their staff with respect — we will close accounts over abuse or harassment without a refund;
  • not use Whafy to arrange anything illegal, and not attempt to take a provider you met here off the platform to avoid fees.

5. Prices, and how providers are paid

You always pay the same price for the same service, whichever provider does it. Prices are set by Whafy, per service and per option, and shown to you before you book. Provider cards carry no prices, because choosing a provider is about who does the work, never about what it costs you.

What a provider is paid is a separate arrangement that does not affect your price. Each provider agrees their own stated price for a service with us, and a commission rate on that stated price which is negotiated individually and can differ between services. Their payout is their stated price less that commission. Whafy’s margin is the difference between what you pay and what the provider is paid, which therefore varies from provider to provider.

This is deliberately decoupled, and it is worth understanding which half is which:

How the price you pay relates to what the provider is paid
The price you payWhafy, per service and optionNo — identical for every providerYes, before you book
The provider’s stated priceNegotiated between Whafy and that providerYesNo
The commission rateNegotiated per provider, per serviceYesNo
The provider’s payoutTheir stated price less their commissionYesNo — the provider sees their own

Where a service is priced by distance — moves, principally — the price is a base amount that includes a set number of kilometres, plus a per-kilometre rate for anything beyond it, calculated on the actual driving route between the two addresses and shown to you in full before you confirm.

A service fee may be added at checkout and is shown as its own line. Prices include VAT where it applies; VAT is handled at the invoicing level rather than broken out on the checkout screen, because Whafy intends to operate in more than one country and rates differ.

Payments are not switched on yet. The platform currently takes bookings without collecting money, and no card details are collected anywhere. When card payments launch we will update these terms and tell you before the first charge.

6. Changing or cancelling a booking

You can cancel from the app at any time before the job starts.

Current cancellation windows and fees
More than 24 hours before the scheduled timeFree. Cancelling at exactly 24 hours before is still free — the boundary falls in your favour.
Within 24 hours of the scheduled timeA late cancellation fee of 20% of the price of that service.
A quote request with no date agreedFree, always. Nothing has been reserved and no provider has held time.
Cancelled by Whafy or by the providerFree. A late fee only ever applies to a customer changing their mind.

The app tells you which of these applies, and how much any fee would be, before you confirm the cancellation — never afterwards.

These figures are provisional and we are telling you so. They are the values the platform currently applies, but Whafy has not finalised its cancellation and refund policy, and no fee has ever actually been charged to anyone because payments are not live. When the policy is settled — likely with different amounts depending on how far a job has progressed — we will publish it here and give notice before it takes effect.

If a provider cancels on you, or does not turn up, tell us. We will find you another provider or cancel the booking at no cost, and you owe nothing.

7. Reviews

You can rate and review a provider after a completed job. Reviews must be your genuine experience of a service you actually received. We remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory, contain someone’s personal details, or are written to manipulate a rating — ours or a competitor’s.

A review survives the deletion of the account that wrote it, shown without the reviewer’s name. Removing it would silently rewrite a provider’s record, which is not something we are willing to do.

8. If you are a provider

Provider accounts are created by Whafy — there is no self sign-up. If you want to join, you can request an invitation. Your relationship with Whafy is governed by these terms together with the individual agreement covering your stated prices, commission rates and payout arrangements.

You are an independent business, not a Whafy employee, and you:

  • hold and keep current every licence, certification, registration and insurance policy your service requires under Cypriot law, and provide evidence when we ask;
  • perform bookings you accept, to a professional standard, at the time agreed;
  • keep your availability, coverage areas and days off accurate, since customers book against them;
  • treat customer data — addresses, phone numbers, anything you see in a booking — as confidential, use it only to do the job, and never for your own marketing;
  • are responsible for your own taxes, social insurance and any staff you employ.

Customer-facing prices are set by Whafy and are read-only to you. Your own stated price and commission rate change by agreement with us, not unilaterally. We may suspend or terminate a provider account for repeated cancellations, poor service, a lapsed licence, or conduct that puts customers at risk.

9. Our responsibility, and its limits

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited — death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any right you have as a consumer under Cypriot or EU law that cannot be excluded by agreement. Everything below is subject to that, and if any part of it conflicts with a right you have as a consumer, your right wins.

We are responsible for the platform working as described, and for losses we cause that were a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms.

We are not responsible for the performance of the service itself, which the provider supplies and is liable for — the quality of the work, damage caused while doing it, or a provider not arriving. Where we can help, we will: we will find you another provider, cancel at no cost, and support you in raising the matter with the provider.

We do not promise the platform will be uninterrupted or error-free. Some of what it depends on is outside our control — mapping and routing services, message delivery, hosting — and those can degrade.

Where liability can lawfully be limited, ours for any one booking is limited to the amount you paid for that booking.

10. Complaints and disputes

If something goes wrong, tell us first — support@whafy.com. Most problems are a provider issue we can resolve directly, and we would rather fix it than argue about it. We will acknowledge a complaint within a few working days and tell you what we are doing.

If we cannot resolve it between us, you keep every route the law gives you. As a consumer in the EU you can bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, and nothing here takes that away or requires you to arbitrate.

11. Ending this agreement

You can stop using Whafy and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, is used fraudulently, or puts other users at risk — and where the situation allows it we will tell you why and give you a chance to put it right first.

Ending the agreement does not cancel obligations already incurred: bookings already performed, fees already due, and the record-keeping described in the Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We will update these terms as the product changes — payments launching is the obvious next one. The date at the top always reflects the current version. For a change that materially affects you we will give notice before it takes effect, and continuing to use Whafy afterwards is how you accept it. A change never applies retrospectively to a booking already made.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Cyprus, and the courts of Cyprus have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

If you are a consumer resident in another EU member state, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer-law rules of your own country, and you may bring proceedings there.

Whafy intends to operate beyond Cyprus, including in the Middle East. When it does, terms specific to a country will be added as their own clause naming that country’s governing law and forum, rather than by rewriting this one — so what applies to you will keep depending on where you are.

If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.
